After a good night’s sleep and hearty breakfast, we were all set for Day 2 of the Tour. Headed north we prepared to see the world-famous Giant’s Causeway. This UNESCO World Heritage Site never fails to impress; with its striking 40,000 interlocking basalt columns formed by volcanic activity around 60 million years ago. The students meandered down the road turning a corner to be faced with the dramatic scenery and picturesque views across the landscape. We sauntered over the hexagonal columns and scaled the hillside past the deep layers of columns towering above, and laterite soil to gain a better vista. A few good photos were captured before the rains enveloped the group, marking the end of the summer and end of an enjoyable tour for all.
We had a fantastic and busy two days of learning beyond the classroom. The girls were an absolute pleasure to bring away and commendable ambassadors for RMC throughout. We all look forward to our first day back in the classroom tomorrow.
