On Thursday, Mr. O’Donovan’s TY Chemistry class investigated the rate of production of oxygen in the Chemistry lab. They used a catalyst (manganese dioxide) to decompose hydrogen peroxide and measured the speed at which oxygen was produced. Afterwards they tested the gas to show that it was oxygen, by relighting a glowing splint. For their efforts they were rewarded with a Science week ruler and pencil which they used to draw their graphs. Well done!
