Over 120 secondary schools from throughout the Munster region were represented at this flagship
gala, making it the largest swim event on the Munster schools calendar.
Competing for Regina Mundi College were the following swimmers:
• Kathryn McKiernan
• Anna Murray
• Doireann Kerr
• Aisling Malone
• Abigail Cregan
• Amy O’Connell
• Meadhbh O’Hanlon
• Aimee O’Herlihy
• Isabel Sheehan
• Sophie Sheehan
All girls swam at least 2 individual race events each, and RMC also had two strong relay
teams competing in the Junior and Intermediate female events respectively.
Each swimmer produced great individual swims & PB’s, representing R egina Mundi
with pride on the day.
Doireann Kerr won gold in Female 13-14yrs 100 breast-stroke and will go on to
represent RMC in the Irish schools Nationals to be held in The NAC Dublin in 2026.
The most entertaining swims of the day were the team relays, with much excitement and close
racing involved. The relays are a great team bonding event, with all girls supporting & cheering
on their team-mates throughout the races.
RMC placed well in all 4 relay events, considering the strong competition involved, with the best
club swimmers in Munster taking part, all representing their respective schools.
Frank Lynch, Regina Mundi College team coach said ‘This year’s Munster Schools championships gala was a great success forRMC. A healthy number of 10 Athletes competed in themeet for RMC, travelling to Limerick to represent their school with pride.
The girls really enjoyed themselves and it was great to see all the Munster schools and team-
mates together, competing in the fantastic Olympic standard facility that is UL, with many club,
school- friends & rivals competing in the true spirit of the school’s gala.
We look forward to the Irish Nationals to be held in Dublin next year.
