Hard luck to our Senior camogie team who lost out in the Munster final against Christ the King last evening. Despite the recent poor weather, the pitch held up well and both teams started the game brightly. Initially scores were at a premium and despite carving out more scoring chances Christ the King found the back of the net minutes before half time and we found ourselves trailing by 1-5 to 0-2 at the short whistle.
In the second half we came out fighting and spent a considerable amount of time in the opposition half of the field, but we couldn’t find the scores to reduce the deficit. As the half wore on the physical exertions began to tell as Christ the King began to find more time and space on the ball. This resulted in them building on their lead. A well worked team goal finished to the net by Maeve O’Shea gave us a glimmer of hope, but it was Christ the King who finished with a flourish to put an extra gloss on the scoreboard as the game finished 4-11 to 1-4.
 
The effort and commitment of our players couldn’t be faulted as everyone fought for every ball from the first whistle to the last. The squad should be very proud of their achievements this year and of how they represented the school so well over the course of the year. Many thanks to all those who braved the cold to come along and support the team, it was much appreciated.
