On Thursday, our 2nd Year students showcased their creativity and scientific thinking in our annual SciFest@School competition. The event was a huge success, with an impressive display of projects and enthusiastic participation. We were delighted to welcome Seán Foley from SciFest, who judged the competition alongside our former vice principal, Mr. John Maxwell.
The standard of work was outstanding, and it was great to see our 1st Years visit the exhibition and support their peers. Congratulations to our overall winner, Muireann McGuire, for her project “How different types of vinegar react with baking soda.” In second place were Libby Moynihan and Molly Costello with their exciting project “The Water Bottle Rocket.” Both winners received One4All vouchers, generously sponsored by SciFest.
Special recognition also goes to Evelyn McCarthy, Amy McCarthy, Sophie Leonard, Tara Murphy, Cara Murray, and Aoibheann Browne, who received sponsored prizes for their excellent work.
Well done to all involved on a brilliant day of science, curiosity, and innovation!
