After a 3-hour bus ride, our 2nd and 4th years arrived at the RDS for BT Young Scientist, buzzing with excitement. Molly O’Sullivan and Eve Mullins were already here in the middle of the mayhem with their display set up. The girls were captivating everyone with their project on how positive, negative and neutral reinforcement influences teenage girls’ performance in physical activity. Everyone was wow’d not only for the brilliant project but also for the impressive display of talent by these two girls as they discussed their project with those who walked around each display.
As the day unfolded, students immersed themselves in the array of ideas, exploring projects from other schools and delving into interactive stands from companies such as Pritt, Cybersecurity focused companies, Analog Devices, ABP, and An Foram Uisce. The atmosphere was a mix of curiosity and enjoyment, creating a dynamic experience for everyone.
Laughter and conversation about the stands the girls interacted with filled the air on our bus journey home, making it more than just an educational event but a memorable day of shared joy and connections. The event was a testament to the spirit of our school community, where intellect and enjoyment seamlessly coexist.
