Our 2nd Year Home Economics students headed to Joe’s Farm Crisps in Killeagh Tuesday morning to pick their own pumpkins, carrots and potatoes.
The girls had been learning about sustainable food choices, the importance of shopping local and supporting Irish growers in class. Today was a fantastic opportunity to put theory into practice and see first-hand where their food comes from.
The girls gained valuable insights from Joe and Sandra, the owners of the farm, who shared their knowledge and experience of growing and harvesting seasonal produce in Ireland, as well as the importance of supporting local food producers.
A wonderful morning of hands-on learning that truly brought the classroom to life!
