We have yet another final to look forward to after the latest fantastic result. The Junior Soccer team beat Colaiste Eamonn Rís with a convincing 5-0 victory.
The game started quite evenly until Faye Hanratty was taken down by the goalkeeper for a penalty which she cooly placed in the net. There was more sustained pressure from our girls until Faye managed to find herself through on goal again and this time she finished it calmly into the bottom left corner.
Regina Mundi dominated the majority of the ball and had some promising attacks and passages of play. The defence played their part massively by stopping any promising attack from the opposition.
The game continued in that fashion until Mia Quille swivelled on the half-turn and played through Chloe Murray who improvised with an outside of the right boot finish passed the goalkeeper.
The first half finished at 3-0 and we didn’t stop there. Our energy levels persisted and Faye completed her hattrick very soon in the second half. We looked more and more comfortable and this resulted in another fantastic passage of play which began and finished with a Davis sister. Rose picked the ball out of the sky from a goal kick and proceeded to play Alex Carroll through on the right wing. Alex whipped the ball into the box for Emma to volley straight into the net.
Every player on the team played a crucial part on the day and that’s why we are now looking forward to another final. The details are to follow.
