Yesterday we returned to MTU for our annual sports day.
We were blessed with glorious sunshine which set the tone for a fantastic day.
The students started the day with a warm up in their class groups accompanied by their class teachers and year heads.
There was a fantastic atmosphere from the very beginning of the day with everyone showing great enthusiasm and plenty of competitiveness throughout each activity.
There was something for everyone on the day with a variety of events taking place. We had our novelty events such as the egg and spoon race, the sack race and the 3-legged race and our athletics events included the 100m sprint, the high jump and the long jump.
The competition was fierce this year with many races and events coming down to very fine margins which added to the excitement and atmosphere of the day. It was great to see such talent and athleticism on display.
After lunch the students and teachers competed in the inter year 4x100m relay. The 4th year students dethroned the teachers this year followed closely by the 2nd years and 3rd years. This was one of the highlights of the day with each year group cheering on their 4 representatives.
The day ended with a very entertaining and extremely competitive teachers vs 6th years soccer and football game.
A fantastic day was had by all. Thank you to all teachers for their help and support on the day and to all students for their enthusiasm and full participation throughout.
