AIB Douglas transformed its lobby this morning into an inspiring showcase of creativity and sustainability, thanks to a collaboration between the Business, Home Economics, and Art Departments of Regina Mundi College. The vibrant display, set up to coincide with the bank’s Sustainability Week, featured an array of eye-catching creations that breathed new life into discarded materials. Visitors to the bank will be greeted by a stunning collection of Junk Kouture outfits, each piece meticulously crafted from repurposed materials, demonstrating the ingenuity and artistic flair of the TY students involved. Alongside these fashion-forward ensembles, upcycled cushions and bags adorn the space, showcasing the practical applications of sustainable design in everyday items beautifully curated by Home Economics students in second year. What truly makes this display special is its cross-curricular nature, highlighting the seamless integration of practical home economics skills and artistic expression. It is a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in tackling environmental challenges. Thank you to the TY students who helped to transport the collections to the bank on Friday last. To the students who poured their time, effort, and creativity into these wonderful pieces, we extend our heartfelt thanks for inspiring us all to rethink, repurpose, and reimagine the world around us.
