The Regina Mundi Chess team competed at an open tournament yesterday. This was a team competition where schools competed in groups of four. Our representatives were Aoibhinn McGuire, Emily Sexton, Grace Coughlan O’ Sullivan and Kate Cummins. All students from 2nd year.
 
The girls have been preparing for the event for quite some time and this showed with the tremendous standard of play on show throughout the day as the team competed in several rounds.
 
Games were won, drawn and lost by all of the team and although they didn’t rank in a prize winning spot, representing the school was an excellent accomplishment in itself.
 
Just a reminder that chess club occurs every Tuesday at 1:10pm in the library. All students are welcome.
