This Wednesday, the students who ran the 10k Youth Challenge, as part of Cork City Marathon on June 4th, were invited to City Hall by Lord Mayor Cllr. Kieran Mc Carthy and Cork City Council Sports Section.
The Lord Mayor talked about the importance of Civic Engagement and thanked the students who ran on the day, particularly as a lot of money is raised for Charity by those running.
The City Council Sports Section also gave each participant a 50 euro voucher for John Buckley sports in recognition of their effort and achievement
Our current Sixth Years were running to raise money for “A Bright Light” a Foundation set up in memory of Ella Dalton.
We would like to thank everyone in the City Council for their generosity and also extend thanks to all the students who ran on the day.
