Congratulations to the Minor Soccer Team on winning the Cork Cup Final

March 25, 2026

The Minor Soccer Team were victorious in the Cork Cup Final yesterday! The result on the day was 2-0 to Regina Mundi against Ballincollig Community School.
Despite the wet and windy conditions, it was a thoroughly entertaining game which was mainly dominated by Regina Mundi. In the opening ten minutes, we sustained pressure on the opposing team which led to Mia Quille breaking through the back four only to be pulled down for a free kick just outside the box. Mia calmly placed the ball and fired it high into the net over the wall which gave us the lead.
We continued to have promising attacks and we defended extremely well to keep our one goal lead. The day got even better for us when Blaíthín Nevin broke through on goal and instead of taking on the defender, she hit a shot which soared high above the keeper into the top of the goal. It was a fantastic goal which was thoroughly deserved.
The first half ended at 2-0 and throughout the second half, we created promising chances but most importantly, we defended extremely well and stayed compact and consistent at the back which persevered our clean sheet.
It was a fantastic day out for the team, the supporters and the staff who came up to Corinthians Park to watch Regina Mundi become the champions of Cork once again!
