Transition Year is the bridge between Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate. Regina Mundi College students get the opportunity to engage in many wonderful educational experiences both inside and outside the classroom, curricular and extra-curricular. This is a significant learning moment for the students and underpins the school ethos and mission statement. The students are encouraged to display excellence and a strong sense of social responsibility. The potential of each student is promoted, and each student’s ability is accommodated and nurtured. It also prepares them for further education, the world of work and to become committed members of society.
Regina Mundi College prides itself on providing an outstanding Transition Year Programme. It is arguably one of the best Transition Year Programmes in the country.
I had older children in other schools and they never did as much in TY as my daughter did last year in Regina Mundi College. She was engaged fully throughout the entire year and still maintained her academic progress.

Throughout the year students are provided with a variety of educational visits, both curricular and extra-curricular, as well as presentations from an array of guest speakers on topics relevant to the world in which they live today. The students partake in two weeks of Work Experience and Community Service in the second term. Throughout this fortnight, the students experience first hand the world of work and the opportunity to investigate a variety of potential career paths is afforded to them.
