Well done to our students who travelled to MTU yesterday for the South Munster Schools Track & Field Championships. We were incredibly lucky with the glorious sunshine which made the day even more enjoyable. There was incredible talent on display from across the region which made for a fantastic viewing and competing experience.
We had students from 1st, 2nd & 5th year competing across a range of events such as the 100m, 200m, 3000m and high jump.
All students performed extremely well and did the school proud.
We had two first year students, Lucy Ahern & Amelia Kuczynska reach the 100m semi final and just narrowly missed out on a place in the final.
First year student Ellie O’Connor was the clear winner of the high jump with a very impressive jump of 140cm.
And finally fifth year student Orlaith Murray won bronze in the senior girls 3000m.
Orlaith and Ellie will now advance to the Munster Schools in two weeks time.
