This week, our school is buzzing with all things literary as we celebrate Literacy Week. From our kick off assembly to daily activities, the girls are diving into the world of words!
Highlights so far include our “Drop Everything and Read” sessions, where students pause to enjoy a good book, and our Quote of the Day over the intercom, sparking thought and inspiration. In English classes, students are exploring a Word of the Day, building vocabulary in fun and creative ways (like with cork slang, while also making their other teachers use the words!
Our Guess the Teacher’s Favourite Film competition has had students eager to match teachers to their top picks. The winner will be announced Friday! There’s also excitement around our “What Do You Meme?” slogan writing competition, encouraging students to blend humour and creativity with language.
It’s been a fantastic week of reading, writing, and wordplay, and it’s not over yet!
