Learning support

AEN Department

The AEN Department at Regina Mundi College offers Learning Support to students with a myriad of needs, ranging from students with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, A.D.H.D, Autism, Emotional Needs, Physical Needs and Medical Needs.

Cognitive Ability Tests (CATs) are sat by 1st year students prior to entry to RMC, these together with class tests and house exams are monitored to assess the academic progress of our students. Timely strategic interventions are put in place when necessary.

Reasonable Accommodations are applied for to the Department of Education, for all our students that meet the criteria for assistance during examinations.

The school supports eligible students in applying for the D.A.R.E. (Disability Access Route to Education) scheme and provides guidance throughout each stage of the application process.

Learning support is offered from 1st to 6th year.
In 2nd and 3rd year, AEN students join a learning support class, with two classes per week in Numeracy and two in Literacy.

The AEN Department is comprised of an AEN Coordinator, resource teachers, several learning support teachers and 4 Special Needs Assistants.
