We celebrated literacy week this past week, and students had opportunities to attend book club, “DROP EVERYTHING AND READ” for 15 minutes each day, enter a competition to guess the teachers’ favourite books, write short stories and join a trip to the local library in Douglas. One of the highights of the week was yesterday’s non-uniform day to coincide with World Book Day. Everyone dressed as their favourite book character. Many members of staff were dressed (partially) as “Where’s Wally?”, with the REAL Wally in full costume was Ms Buckley. This venture raised €471, which will go towards improving our library. Thank you to everyone for your enthusiastic participation, and please keep reading and writing!
