The Transition Year students and their Irish teachers have returned to school following a trip to the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht in West Kerry. The students travelled to Ceann Tra and stayed with five local Mná Tí. While in Kerry the students visited the Blasket Centre, Dingle Acquarium, Dingle Climbing Wall and Gallarus Oratory. The students also attended two céilí where they danced the night away and had a story telling and music session with Maidhc Dainín O Sé. The trip was enjoyed by all and the opportunity to speak as Gaeilge was invaluable for the students as they are well aware of the increased emphasis placed on spoken Irish in the Leaving Certificate Exam (the oral Irish exam accounts for 40% of the Leaving Cert exam).
