On Friday 18th March forty-five students and five teachers (Ms Desmond, Mrs Daly, Ms Johnson, Mr Finn and Ms Cassidy) departed for a cultural and historical tour to London, Stratford and Oxford. In London they visited the Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the History Museum. Notable London landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, Madame Tussauds, the Parliament Buildings and the London Eye were also visited. The party also attended a performance of the hit musical ‘Wicked’. There was, of course, some time set aside for ‘shopping’.
In Stratford all the usual sites connected with the Bard of Avon were visited; this cannot but improve the relationship between our students and the works of Mr William Shakespeare.
In Oxford our students and teachers enjoyed a tour of the city; many students professed a keen interest in returning there one day as undergraduates.
Everybody enjoyed the tour; it was stimulating, informative and memorable.
